Mischievous young magpie
NB: Despite the common name - the Australian magpie is not a member of the family Corvidae and is placed in Artamidae together with currawongs and butcherbirds.
I believe this is a juvenile, going by the plumage. These birds are naturally black and white, juveniles with grey.
The juveniles are often full of energy and delightful pranks - this one was with three others in my garden, running and jumping and up to shenanigans.
Around 30 cm length.
