My kingdom for a horse

'I have set my life upon a caste,

And I will stand the hazard of the die,

I think there be six Richmonds in the field;

Five have I slain instead of him.

A horse, a horse! My kingdom for a horse!'.

The last words of Richard as he lay dying on the battlefield. He has lost his horse, which was a vital component of a fighter’s equipment in medieval times.

Act 5, scene 4 of Shakespeare’s Richard III.

For some reason, I thought of Richard's words when I came upon this shy, equine beauty one day in New Zealand.
