Misty twilight over Nobbys
A late summer evening and sea mist began to roll in from the water over Nobbys Lighthouse and beach, here in Newcastle.
The light was beautiful, gentle and it made for a very pretty scene.
Nobbys Lighthouse is active and positioned on Nobbys Head, a headland on the south side of the entrance to our harbour. It was the third to be built in Australia after Macquarie Lighthouse in 1818 and the Hornby Lighthouse, in 1858.
In 2004, the lighthouse was registered on the Commonwealth Heritage List.
