Huntsman spring harbinger and herald

We know spring has arrived here in Australia when huntsman sightings increase. They are harbingers and heralds of the warmer months.

This was my first encounter of the 2022 spring season on August 25, a Heteropoda sp. male, seen on the inside of an empty flower pot in the garden.

Spiders within genus Heteropoda are known commonly as giant huntsman due to the impressive sizes some species can achieve when fully grown.

This male had a body length of around 2 cm. I'm not sure if he is fully grown as yet.
