Miguel

A couple of weeks ago I was out setting up to take some pictures on Antelope Island about Thirty minutes from my house. When I happen to notice a stranger approaching me. When I am taking pictures I prefer being by myself. That way I can concentrate on what I am doing and get lost in the moment. Probably one of the biggest reasons I enjoy Photography. So as he is getting closer I am thinking to myself, I hope he does not stay or get in my way. Sure enough the next thing I know he is introducing himself. His name is Miguel and he is from California, In Utah on business and thought he would come out for the afternoon and take some pics. Ok, he seems like a nice enough person maybe this wont be to bad after all. We chat for a min about equipment and such, he plays with my dog and asks about him. The dog likes him, cant be to bad. He shakes my hand and says nice to meet you and walks off taking pictures. I was out there to take some pictures of the sunset and it was not close to happening yet, so as he was walking around me taking pictures, I started taking them of him. I was not planning on it but after it was all said and done they were turning out to be some of my favorites. Before he left I waved him down and asked him for his email so I could send the pics I had taken of him. He was very grateful and appreciative of the gesture. I am not a much of a religious person but I think the meaning of Christmas to me is not about giving presents to show appreciation. But to make an effort everyday to be good to each other and strive to be a better person than you were the day before....... Merry Christmas!
