Rare late Victorian Conservatory 1898 Goddard House

This is one of only a small number of original Victorian era conservatories I've encountered in my many years of admiring Victorian architecture. The complex diamond-paned windows allowed light in for plants to grow. 1890's Victorians loved indoor plants with palms and ferns among their favorites. (as often seen in photos of that era) Most of these special purpose buildings were lost in intervening century plus years but this is one lucky survivor. Note the lovely crescent shaped transom above the paired French entry doors. In total, this is a classic, timeless design and one of the outstanding features of the William Goddard House. The Goddard house is one of the architectural gems in the Old West End Historic District just west of downtown Muncie, Indiana.
