Western x Hepatic Tanager
A hybrid Western x Hepatic Tanager found at Boot Spring in Big Bend National Park. The bird's white face is clearly visible in this photo, indicating hepatic. The bird is obviously orange, not red, indicating the influence of the yellow Western Tanager. The bird was also singing continually, and the song was very similar to that of a full-blooded hepatic. I initially thought the bird was a Hepatic x Flame-colored Hybrid, but it turns out that it looks more like a Western x Hepatic.
