Boom!

We got off the ship while it was still in the ocean, went down the gangplank to a catamaran, and took an excursion into Tracy Arm. What an incredible place of beauty! This is Sawyer Glacier, and I was amazed to capture it calfing. It makes quite a noise when the glacier breaks apart and falls to the ocean. If you zoom in, you'll see that those tiny black spots are birds, so you can get a sense of scale here. I was in awe of the blues everywhere, in the ice and in the water.

 

It was about 7C out, and with the wind chill, probably right at the freezing point.
