Well that's a surprise! Black Bear in the Alvar (Explore)
Well, that's not a bird! I was surprised to run into this Black Bear as I cleared a forest patch while searching for Golden Winged Warblers in an Alvar (wasn't too successful on the Golden Winged). Either way I was happy to find this (probably) young Bear. Even though I was fairly close I backed away slowly and tried to snap a few pics while doing so (that and the direct sun decreased the sharpness). Lucky for me this Bear quickly went about it's business after our encounter.
