Perching Cormorant

I like the way cormorants hold their wings out like this. The sun was right behind, glinting off the sea, hence the overblown light. I have some shots that are more conventionally exposed, but I like the weirdness of this one. Zoom in to the bird to see the strange way in which the sunlight and the small aperture work together.

 

I walked from Exminster to Starcross this morning, hoping to see the Ospreys at Powderham. Didn't see them though! One day I'll see an Osprey!
