In the House of Sir Gredgar
After obtaining a map, Avesler at last made it to the city of Dalmanutha. Once there, he reasoned that he would find Sir Gredgar, a close, faithful friend of Avesler's father. After finding Sir Gredgar's dwelling and being granted entrance, Avesler was taken to Sir Gredgar.
The elderly knight kindly greeted Avesler and asked about his father. After telling Sir Gredgar the sad news and his most recent adventure, Sir Gredgar motioned to a guard to draw near. After he spoke a few words, the guard left the room.
"Avesler, it is indeed a very disturbing story you tell me, and I wish could do more than just sympathize with you. However, you did mention that you are searching for value and a purpose, correct?
Well, here is my advice.
You are at the age to begin to pursue your own dreams and desires. What those are? I cannot tell you, since I do not know what each man is destined for. However, I know this, there is much turmoil going on in regards to the country as a whole, and Loreos needs strong, cunning, loyal, and faithful men who will not back down in the day of battle.
Avesler, I have seen you and your family many times, and I believe that you are one of those men. I was there when you swore loyalty to Loreos with your brother, and I could see it in you and your brother's eyes that fierce loyalty to Loreos. I know your father would want you to follow your own path in life, and I believe that that path will leads towards things you would never dream of. In order to follow this path, however, you need to be prepared for the challenges ahead. I would advise you to join the Loreesi army, learning the (few) things that your father did not have a chance to teach you. As you become stronger and better as a knight, it will build your character, which is what will keep you steady in the days to come. Do not feel too overwhelmed, my own son... Here he is!"
Drenif enters the room...
Drenif, will soon be joining the Loreesi ranks. I believe he will be a great companion and friend. If you enlist now, I will put a word in for you to be put in the same company..."
Avesler thanked Sir Gredgar for his kindness. He also promised him that, in the morning, he would enlist in the Loreesi army...
