Versailles, Le Hameau and the poplar - und die Pappel

1972 hatte ich bei einem Besuch im Schlossgarten von Versailles diese üppige Situation entdeckt. Eine Wendeltreppe zu einem Bauernhaus umschloss eine hochgewachsene Pappel.

 

In 1972 I had discovered during a visit to the castle gardens of Versailles this exuberant situation. A spiral staircase to a farmhouse encircled a tall poplar.
