Devotion
I practice yoga not only as a physical practice, but as a devotional practice. This is the position I'm often in after a session, sometimes with my prayer beads in hands. I had a different idea of how I wanted to portray this concept, but I wound up with this instead. I'm very nervous about portraits, but I'm trying to push myself to work on it more. It was really fun playing with this, seeing what angles were interesting and trying to beat the camera timer (even while using a remote trigger, I had to rush). This photo also taught me a lot about lighting and although I am not completely happy with the end product (the shadow under the nose and mouth) it's a hell of a lot better than where I started.
I also wasn't sure if I wanted to play with this shot and rotate it. I did do that and while I liked it, it reminded me a bit too much of another D: death, as though I was peeking into a coffin at a wake.
