Adjusted for inflation.... that's 10 cents saved.
In 1910, nine years after Australia federated as a nation, a national Australian currency was formed, based on the British money system of pounds, shillings and pence.
On 14th February 1966, Australia introduced the decimal currency system of dollars and cents that is still in use today.
So no more pennies for us!!
Even 1 cent coins were phased out in 1990.
