Volcanic History
Much of New Mexico, USA, witnessed spectacular volcanic eruptions long ago, perhaps no more so than the western part of the state where this image was taken. I don't remember being aware of the tiny bird, maybe a meadowlark, perched on a dead cactus in the lower right corner. He was probably not thinking 'how lovely'. He was simply part of the whole, as we all are when we are right with nature (or maybe right with ourselves). Thanks for visiting!
