Acts chapter 10 v 34 - 48 The preaching of Peter that God used to convert the Gentiles well worth the read . It's interesting to note that not all conversions are the same if you study the book of acts . At the day of pentecost they also spoke in tongues , and they were a language understood by men , I believe also in this case . If not they would not be understood by men . the sign of tongues is for others to understand , not some heavenly language, that also does exist but for personal use only , but not for a sign . And not in every case are tongues needed for a sign , also they would've given prophecy as well as tongues . So be careful . there is some misunderstanding about Tongues . I hope this helps someone , do all speak in tongues at conversion ? No .
Read 1 Corinthians ch 14 for more understanding. Verse 22 they are a sign for unbelievers…. I read this later that confirms what already I read on the subject.
