This January day in 1975 was one of those days you head out hoping to shoot in the snow. We got a little wet snow and that was it. Here we find southbound Southern mixed train No. 7, the "Lynchburg Special," rounding the curve in downtown Faber, VA with the usual four GP units, a FP7A, a coach and the TOFC cars. The agency at Faber had been closed at the time, replaced by "mobile agents" in vans. The station would linger for a couple years before being demolished. There once was a thriving pulpwood business. That also is gone.
