SOU0029

I grew up along Southern's Manassas-Harrisonburg Branch, better known as the "B Line," in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley. While the eastern portion of the line, between Manassas and Riverton Junction has been elevated to main line status, this portion further west at Woodstock is out of service and has been rail-banked. On Nov. 28, 1971, westbound No. 35 is parked while the crew has dinner at the local Tastee Freeze, located out of the picture to the right. The consist was GP30's No's. 2583 and 2609 and 19 cars.
