Southbound Richmond, Fredericksburg & Potomac freight No. 109 highballs around the broad curve at Penola, VA on July 24, 1982 with two GP40-2's bracketing a GP35. Potomac Yard-Waycross No. 109 was the hottest of the manifest trains heading down SCL's former ACL side at Richmond. In addition to its regular traffic, it also carried a block of empty Tropicana cars ahead of the caboose.
