Faro de Punta del Hidalgo
The utmost stunning lighthouse on Tenerife, taken on the same day but at different time which explains the different light & shadow.
It was built in 1992 according to plans by the architect Hidalgo Ramiro Rodriguez-Borlado within a few months and put into operation in 1994.
The tower, composed of a multitude of cuboids of different heights, is 50 metres high. Its shape is reminiscent of a group of basalt columns, as they occur on the volcanic island. Its pure white colour contrasts with the dark mountains of the Anaga range in the background. Inside the building 246 steps lead to the 14th.
