La Farola del Mar
Old lighthouse in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, built by Henry Leapaute in 1863. It was active until 1954.
In 1976 it was dismantled and stored in a warehouse owned by the Port. Eight years later, as a tribute to the history of the Port, it was reinstalled at the entrance to the quay at the Plaza de España.
It remained there until it was removed again in 1991 due to new works on the port infrastructure. On 30 April 1994, the sea lantern was presented to the city again as part of the commemoration of the 5th centenary of the city's foundation.
