Japan 3 004

As I wandered around Urawa at night, I went down a long, dark back alley. Like many of the back alleys that I've encountered here thus far, there was a surprisingly moderate amount of foot traffic. But I happened to find a tiny, tiny restaurant (like 8 feet by 12 feet). I walked in and the employees were very, very friendly. I pointed to this on the menu and said "kudasai", which means please (cause thats one of the very few things I know how to say). I was excited to come to Japan to try the noodles, and I must say, these are the best I've ever had. It's hard to describe the flavor, but it was meaty, and spicy (not hot spicy, flavorful spicy) and the broth tasted great, not like flavored water like every other time I've had this at other places. The rice was like chinese takeout rice in that it had different things in it, but was equally delicious, among the best chinese rice I've ever had as well. To get a scale of how much food this was, those chopsticks are about a foot long. GREAT meal. Definately going back there again. Although I forgot to pay and the lady had to chase me down on the street and taught me a new word (okane = money) and I felt like a total idiot, but definitely going back there again.
