K-3048 of 316 squadron showing its guns. This Freedom Fighter was sold to Turkey, updated to NF-5A-2000 and is now in use with the Turkish Stars. I saw it for the last time 25 years later at Kecskemet in 2013.
After retirement many Dutch NF-5's were flown to Woensdrecht airbase and put in storage. When the last Northrops were withdrawn from service in 1991, most of these went to Greece or Turkey.
On this day in 1988 the base organized a photo opportunity for the jets.
