F27-300M C-7
The Fokker F27 was the workhorse of the Dutch Air Force for almost 36 years. C-1, C-2 and C-3 were F27-100 ‘Friendships’, the other nine were F27-300M ‘Troopships’ with a larger cargo door.
During their operational time, that lasted from 1960 to 1996, the Fokkers were updated and modified numerous times. During peace keeping UN-missions in Cambodia and former Yugoslavia some were sprayed white and received flare systems for self defence.
Photo taken at Eindhoven airbase in Septenber 1994. It has a UNHCR-sticker, because it was used in Rwanda to help refuges after the genocide. C-7 was sold to an African operator and came back to Holland and was scrapped in 2002.e
