Black Diamond Antiques and Collectibles - CLOSED
After a long 17 year run, one of the more unique stores that the Schuylkill Mall has had over its history has shut their gates for the final time. This gem of a store, Black Diamond Antiques and Collectibles, first opened in the fall of 1998 in the space that is now occupied by TruBridge. ( Telemarketing Center, see my set for a photo of it along with more information) Over the years, the store has moved several times, the first move being when it took over the anchor space that was originally Hess's in 2001. It stayed that way until October 2007, when it moved to the space that is now Dunham's Sports. It later moved back to the location in which it was before in 2012, although this time the store was split apart between Blum's Auction and the store itself.
Black Diamond's last day of business was Sunday, May 15th 2016. This leaves the ailing mall only two stores that can pass as anchors, namely Bon-Ton and Dunham's Sports. The future of the mall looks bleak to say the least. With it going up for Sherrif's sale in mid June due to the owners inability to pay property taxes and the last of the tenants abandoning it, I think its safe to say that this mall is finished
