Thredbo Flare Run

A Saturday night ritual at the New South Wales ski resort at Thredbo is the Flare Run.

 

 

Hundreds of skiers and snowboarders, all with flares attached snake their way down the Supertrail into the village below, as the groomers work their way across the resort in preparation for the following day.

 

 

The weather on this particular evening was less than ideal. There was a fair amount of drizzle and sleet about, but the atmosphere that it created carried the light from the flares rather nicely.
