Minerva, Gustaf III:s antikmuseum, Stockholm

This fascinating museum, located inside the Royal Palace in Stockholm, is full of sculptures purchased by King Gustaf III on his 1783-1784 Italian tour. One is believed to be ancient, but most of the sculptures are copies, although some contain parts of old works.

 

This is the Roman goddess Minerva, in all likelihood made in the 18th century.
