Gustaf III:s antikmuseum, Stockholm
This fascinating museum, located inside the Royal Palace in Stockholm, is full of sculptures purchased by King Gustaf III on his 1783-1784 Italian tour. One is believed to be ancient, but most of the sculptures are copies, although some contain parts of old works.
This is the Lesser Stone Gallery as it looks today. The next image shows an oil painting of the gallery, made by Per Hilleström the elder in ca. 1795. You can see that not much has changed in 220 years, except that people are much taller today.
