Three rare visitors decided to spend the night at our local nature center. It wasn't long before word got out attracting many birders and photographers. In contrast to most bird species, the female Phalaropes are the more colorful sex, while the males are drab and have most of the nest duty. These birds spend the winter in South America and migrate to the Arctic Circle to breed-quite a journey.

Thanks to all who take the time to view, comment on and favor my images. It is very much appreciated.

You have searched me, Lord,

and you know me.

You know when I sit and when I rise;

you perceive my thoughts from afar.

You discern my going out and my lying down;

you are familiar with all my ways.

Psalm 139: 1-3
