My wife Fran and I decided to give the birds a break for the day and headed up to Rickett's Glen. Their claim to fame is 22 waterfalls along a 7.2 mile loop trail. We survived the hike, but let me tell you, it's strenuous. You're walking along the trails right next to the creeks on wet rocks. I thought I was going to have a heart attack on 3 different parts of the trail. Most of the 22 falls are photogenic, but some had a lot of debris in them, making them unattractive.

We waited for an overcast day when the light would be soft and consistent. A full-sun day would produce harsh, contrastly light with hotspots and deep shadows. Can't wait to go back when the leaves are changing color.

Deep calls to deep at the roar of your waterfalls;

all your breakers and your waves have gone over me.
