Dart on New Diorama

I made myself a diorama to put my models on. Other than the bits of paper I printed off for the textures and everything, the structure is made entirely out of a single cardboard cereal box, except for a bit of plastic film for windows. One side was used as the base, which is the size of an A4 sheet of paper, the other side was cut up into strips to create the shops, which were built up in layers. The first layer I did had only the windows cut out, as in only the bits that would have 'glass' in. I then did another layer but this time I cut out around all the shop fronts and the lower parts of the upstairs windows and glued that over the top. I cut up some plastic film and stuck that over the windows to acts as glass and printed out the shop interior pictures which I aligned behind the film and stuck on. Next I got another cardboard strip and stuck it to the back of all of what I'd just made and increased the structural rigidity greatly. Then all I had to do to the shops was stick the brickwork, signs and other textures on. I was particularly pleased with the awning on the café. Strips of cardboard I had left I made into pavements so I could have a proper raised kerb instead of the ground being all flat.

The shops themselves are a flooring shop, a café, a model shop (because all the best towns have model shops!) and an off-licence. Ideally there would be loads of diorama so it looked almost real, but it would have to be massive, which would be impractical. If you were wondering, I made the back stand up by attaching a support to the back which was also made of cardboard.
