Story: If you are a cyclist then you likely know a bit about Campagnolo but you also probably have a few misunderstandings. There isn’t a way to definitively prove which groupset is “the best” but what I was able to do was disprove the typical, incorrect, assumptions people have about choosing Campagnolo. In terms of the image the challenge was making everything work together in the frame. There are lots of intricate pieces in a groupset and the challenge here was letting the form shine through. There is a mechanical beauty that I had to just get out of the way of. Both the image and the review are really about getting out of the way and letting the product be what it is.
Lighting: Very simple overhead beauty dish with a sock. Not much post either. I’ve got some bounce cards around the edges to keep the shadows from going too dark but mostly I just had to manage the details both in camera and in post.
