Debris Disguise

Brown Lacewing/Tasmanian Lacewing (Micromus tasmaniae) larva

 

When in the larval stage these Lacewings pick up and carry a load of natural 'debris'. This gives them some protection from predators. I first spotted it feeding on the pollen and ignored it, then it moved.

 

If you view large you can see the head and legs.
