George Stephenson with Locomotion No 1

On 27th September 1825 George Stephenson's Locomotion No. 1 hauled the world's first passenger train between Stockton and Darlington. His statue stands outside Chesterfield railway station, the town where Stephenson lived and where he is buried in Holy Trinity Church.
