The Unreal
The petals of the gerbera feel like silk. Smooth as it is, it seems very unlikely. Unreal even. The center slowly bursting out fertile disk florets. After this process the flower starts to decay. It's petals hanging down, brown, rot. The cycle of life. Yet, in it's current form the flower is beautiful.
This is a focus stack making the flower sharp from front to end. A lot would consider this unreal. Yet, i believe that in this form, the flower is presented in the most natural way it can be. When you look at a real life object, you can only focus on the point you are looking at. Your mind makes you believe that the entire object is sharp and whole. But in fact, the only sharp and focussed point is the point you are looking at. And so it is with this flower. The only "sharp" point is the part your looking at, while the rest of the flower appears blurred. It is the unreal.
