Eastern Whip-poor-will. Photographed at Yarmouth Gardens, Toronto, Ontario on 2 May 2024. I've waited a long time to photograph this species, but I never imagined that my first chance would be from my bedroom window! Discovered late in the day, I watched it until about 9 pm, when it flew off. It was amazing to watch it wake up after presumably roosting here all day. Monotypic.
