corrective attempt

This is a bowtie that I attempted to make as a gift for a Doctor Who phanatic friend. I thought that giving him a tie that was Doctor Who themed would make him learn to tie a regular tie himself instead of getting only pre-tied bowties. So I found a pattern online which said "enlarge 200%", traced it out because I dont have the resources right now to do anything else, made it twice as long as it originally asked for, but thought that if I just put a seam allowance on the bow ends, it'll turn out fine. The little skinny tiny bow ends you see there are the result of that attempt. I then enlarged the bow end to what I thought was roughly the right size and decided to test the end. This is what you see on the left side of the bowtie. This one, because of it's wonkiness and it's mistakes I shall keep for myself, but I now have a tie pattern that I can use to make a good tie for the gift.
