This is the pit of an avacado. The sharp line in the upper right hand corner is where the knife bit into the core as I was cutting it in half. I was curious to see what the avacado pit would look like without the skin on it. Originally it was all white and over a short period of time any part that had been scraped or bumped or cut turned a deep red like it was bleeding. The light red is where I dropped it on the floor before setting it down gently for photographing.
