2019 3

2019 has been an interesting year to be a railfan. We've seen operational changes on class 1s, along with new and rebuilt engines, sending older units to retirement and scrap. Although we may not like it, 2019 has brought numerous major changes to the trains we know and love (or hate). Throughout the year, two trains have really sparked harsh realizations of the changes that have happened regarding trains, and this train is one of them. CN C40-8M 2422 switches in Joliet. These barns were common on CN until about 6 months ago, when an onslaught of new GEVOs arrived and PTC was implemented pushed these into storage. These engines all died suddenly, and I never thought I'd get another chance to shoot one, but there I was, in the snow, shooting away. These barns, and almost all other CN Dash 8s have almost completely disappeared in an instant. The situation just shows, never take things for granted, because they can be gone in an instant.
