Oceanum, Ancient Map of the NorthAtlantic? Mountain of Poseidon? Gulf of Poseidon?
This ancient map, labeled Oceanum, Enea Agli Elisi, Andrea de Jorio, plausibly depicts the North Atlantic before the flood.
I will be spending the next two months overlaying portions of this map onto the North Atlantic floor. In all truthfulness, some portions like the far left and bottom right fit like a glove over the topography. Other portions don't seem to fit at all, so I am being very cautious here.
What I find most fascinating is that the map has the ancient names, and the "Nomi Moderni" modern translated names. It is like an ancient "Rosetta Stone" translation of Atlantean to Modernish names.
How astonishing is this?
On the left is the Avernus, Queendom/Kingdom of Eve. In the bottom left is the Templo Apollo and the "Antrium Sibyilli", in the bottom right is the Cocytus, plausibly named Acqua Morde, Sea of the Dead, and Monte di Poseida, Mountain of Poseidon, and Golfo di Poseudi (sp?), I believe Mountain and Gulf of Poseidon.
July 26, 2014 update: There are also the Atlantean Benchmarks of "Tartarea Regna", Elysium, and Antrium Cerberri (entrance to the Underworld).
There is also the plausible reference to Athena in Acherusia Palus. (Pallas Athena?), with a modernish translation of "Frislandiani".
Two historic notes: In 2010, I advised the Canadian Government that the "Templum Apollo" reference was most probably located within the modern name of "Flemish Cap". I also strongly believe that the tips of the Poseidon Trident are roughly displayed to the left of the "m-n-o" keys of the "Nomi Moderni" listings. This identical Trident-prong is shared in many multiple images of Brittannia, Athena, and Poseidon.
With all the Atlantean Benchmark locations on this map, and it's "Modern Name" translation key, it is a MOST VALUABLE document.
