Normandy June 2017

Normandy is full of delightful villages with half timbered buildings, cobbled streets, and delightful patisseries.

We visited Deauville with its colourful parasols on the beach, Honfleur with expensive boats and little individual shops and many more towns and beaches along the coast all with a slice of history relating to the Normandy landings of 1944.

Some of the thatched houses have plants growing from their ridge tiles which must look delightful when in flower. Pretty beach huts line the beach promenade at Houlgate.

We also visited a perfectly preserved medieval site, the chateau of Crevecouer.
