Prosper-Edmond Lessard served as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta from 1909 to 1921 sitting with the Liberal caucus in government. He also served in the Senate of Canada from 1925 to his death in 1931. A neighborhood in southwest Edmonton has been named after his legacy.
