Mike Nock and Ray Vanderby - Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre
Jazzwest and Orange Jazz Club Incorporated present the Mike Nock Trio and the Ray Vanderby Quartet performing with Michael Caulfield and the Bathurst Chamber Orchestra on Sunday 22nd May 2011 at the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre at 3pm – 5.30pm as part of the annual Bathurst Heritage Autumn Festival. Internati...onally renowned jazz pianist composer Mike Nock turned 70 this year and just returned from concerts in Japan. This concert will launch the Trio’s new album An Accumulation of Subtleties which was recorded live at the Sydney Opera House featuring Mike Nock-piano, Ben Waples-bass, James Waples-drums. The Ray Vanderby Quartet featuring Ray Vanderby-piano, Henry Bialowas-bass, Dale Tuckey-sax, Ebbo Brown-drums will also launch their new album Narrambla Calling about Banjo Patterson’s birthplace as they perform with the Bathurst Chamber Orchestra with string arrangements by Dale Tuckey and poetry narration by Michael Caulfield. Jazz meets poetry and classical! This is a special event not to be missed!
