Bringing it back to 1/2/2016, I left La Crosse on an afternoon a day before I started my second semester of Junior year of Highschool. This SD40/GP38-2 duo was leading the charge with 34 cars of mixed freight for the RCPE interchange at Tracy, Minnesota. Here at last light, we are to the top of the 1.7% grade of Stockton Hill and entering the city of Lewiston, Minnesota. This would be the last time I witnessed an SD40 climbing the hill, what a show it was, and I really have no hopes of ever seeing it happen again four years later.
