OVK 139M
The building of the Metro required that a considerable number of PTE vehicles were required to operate the rail replacement services around the North Tyneside loop. These were generally older vehicles which were due to be replaced, the PTE tending only to keep buses for few years. One such vehicle was OVK 139M which was based at Whitley Bay depot and operated by United. It is seen at the end of shift awaiting refuelling.
