Boston 1970 - "Big John's Oldies But Goodies Land"
When all else fails go to Big John's. Located in the heart of the "Combat Zone" section of downtown Boston, surrounded by drugs, prostitution, and pornography*. But he had the hard-to-find records and charged accordingly. Many of the records on the Philles label were purchased here.
{* the nearby "First Amendment Bookstore" featured "Prude - the Surprisingly Shocking Magazine" full of overly intimate photos of fat ugly middle aged suburban couples engaging in a "rich diversity" of "alternate lifestyle options". Cannot imagine who was their "target demographic" - not even Ted Kennedy would be interested in this crap.}
