400 Pueblos 2010 - Victory? Dance
After protesting naked almost every day in Mexico City from 2002 to 2008, clothed (after being beaten by the police) in 2009, and naked again in Veracruz in 2010, the government finally agreed to return their illegally seized land in August 2010.
Upon being shown this montage in November 2008, the demonstrators agreed that this is what they wanted, to be back farming on their own land in Veracruz, Mexico. NOT migrating to the US.
Update June 2011: it is not clear how much of the agreement has actually been carried out. The 400 Pueblos have been banned from Mexico City since late 2009 but have held sporadic demonstrations in Veracruz and elsewhere during 2010 and 2011.
