Mexico City / La Villa Guadalupe - Metro Line 6 Station
Metro Line 6 follows the route of the former Ferrocarril Mexicano here. Until the new (current) Buenavista Station opend around 1960 trains ran along city streets. The route was shifted to its current alignment (along freight tracks) and this section abandoned.
Took Metro Line 6 one stop to its terminal at Martin Carrera in hopes of seeing vestiges of FCM. As with most metro terminals in Mexico City, the bus terminal is more easily reached than the surrounding streets. Found a maze of long stairways and passages - came back without exiting.
At the top of the stairs in the photo, met a Mexican couple searching for the Basilica, it is not visible from here. Pointing, said "One block, turn right, you cannot miss it". I'm sure they found it.
