Texcoco, Mexico - Rectory of National Agricultural University, Chapingo - Diego Rivera Murals / Home of former President
This was the main house of a working hacienda, the private home of President Manuel Gonzalez, and now the Rectory of the National Agricultural University. At one time there was a railroad station between the fountain and the house - used by Diego Rivera to "commute" between here and Mexico City while doing the murals in the Chapel (wood door at right). The central door leads to the courtyard. I was honored with the opportunity to ascend the stairs to the former President's private rooms. The top of the stairwell (cubo) was decorated with further Diego Rivera murals - usually off limits - no photos allowed.
