ADU Javelin II
Finally used the "fighter jet" cockpit after a decade+. Unfortunately it's too small to fit two figures plus chunky ejection seats, so I added a second cockpit for the navigator. Turns out the old Jedi Starfighter canopy flows quite nicely with this one, I really like how they work together.
Very fun build, once I'd figured out how I wanted the wings to be angled. Nothing spectacular in terms of build techniques beside that, but the cockpit sides and nose came out quite nicely too. My love for using minifig chairs not as chairs has persisted for decades now. At this point I just look at them and see air intakes.
Named for, and inspired by the Gloster Javelin from the 50s, but without the massive T-shaped tail, which looks absurd. Streamlined the intakes, added canards, and called it good.
Assorted missiles on the bottom for shooting flying saucers, as the other inspiration, in terms of colour scheme, was the Alien Conquest theme from 2011(!!!) Time flies. And so does this. There may or may not be more to come from this theme. And it may or may not be standing on my desk. Precariously.
Pictures to follow at some point.
